Chivas, the hotbed of the Mexican National Team (or at least they hope so)
If there is something that Mexican soccer loves, it is the eternal discussion about which team contributes the most players to the National Team. And this season, Chivas seems to be in *”pick me, Vasco”* mode, with Luis Romo, “Tala” Rangel, Roberto Alvarado and Efraín Álvarez juggling to get the attention of Javier Aguirre. Yes, the same Aguirre who has a more exclusive list than the backstage of a Bad Bunny concert.
Romo, the midfielder who can also play defense (because in Mexico multitasking is the law), made it clear that what they do in the Flock will be key to their World Cup dream: *”We know that what you do in your club is what projects you for a World Cup”*. That is, he basically said: *”If you break it in Chivas, Vasco puts you on the radar; if you screw up, oblivion and an eternal meme awaits you.”*.
The competition in El Tri: between pride and *”there you look”*
The player not only spoke about his own dream, but also gave a *shoutout* to those who already shone in the Copa América and the Gold Cup: *”I hope new talents continue to emerge and the competition becomes more difficult”*. Translation: *”I hope no one takes my place, but if it happens, then no way.”*.
And of course, we couldn’t miss the nod to the AKRON Stadium, the home of Chivas, where the National Team will play its second game of the Group Stage. Romo, with his heart in his hand (and probably a Tri t-shirt under the Chivas one), confessed: *”I’m excited to live it, to feel that pride of being in your country with your people”*. I mean, he’s already imagining the epic tiktoks and the screams of *”Mexico, Mexico!”* while he runs like there’s no tomorrow.
So, in summary: Chivas wants to be the star factory of El Tri, Romo wants his ticket to the World Cup, and Vasco Aguirre has in his hands the power to make or break dreams. Who said football wasn’t a Netflix drama?
