The 2026 Golden Globes take their time (and no, it’s not about procrastination)
It seems that even the most glamorous awards in Hollywood need a break after the holidays. The 83rd edition of the Golden Globes, that event where the stars shine brighter than spilled champagne, has decided to give itself a sprint of an extra week before its big night. Yes, instead of opening the year with stardust as is tradition, the ceremony was postponed to Sunday, January 11, 2026. Reasons? Mystery. Do you suspect? Maybe someone forgot that January begins with a collective hangover.
Beverly Hilton, CBS and Nikki Glaser: the trio that repeats the formula (and we love it)
The Beverly Hilton will continue to be the temple where cinema and television are venerated, because where else could so many egos and impossible dresses fit? The broadcast, as is customary, will be carried out by CBS and Paramount+ for those who prefer to watch it in their pajamas (or with subtitles to understand the bad jokes). And speaking of jokes: Nikki Glaser is back as host, because after her performance this year, the audience said: “Yes, but with more sarcasm”. The comedian, who knows how to handle chaos better than an Uber driver during rush hour, promises a night of elegant roasts and awkward glances between nominees.
What can we expect? Apart from speeches that last longer than an influencer relationship, of course. We’ll probably see some actor feign surprise when they win (yes, we all know you rehearsed the speech), designers crying when a dress becomes a meme, and of course, that awkward moment when someone forgets to thank their partner (and Twitter turns it into a national drama). Not to mention the memes that will emerge when the camera focuses on someone sleeping in full dress (blessed editors).
The only thing that is certain is that, sooner or later, the Golden Globes always give us something to talk about. Whether it’s the awards, the questionable fashions or the live slip-ups, this edition will be no exception. So mark your calendar (or set an alarm on your phone, since we know millennials don’t use planners anymore).
