When the police play “fixing” the crime scene (and lose)
Now it turns out that the Capital Police is not only after the bad guys, but they also have to investigate their own bosses. Yes, like in those chapters of La Rosa de Guadalupe where the one who should be the hero ends up being the villain. Two police commanders are in the crosshairs for allegedly having decided that the scene of the homicide of two officials of the CDMX Government needed… a little redecoration?
The details that don’t add up (and the police that don’t add up either)
According to the official statement (which sounds more bureaucratic than a scene from NCIS), all indications collected were sent to the Attorney General’s Office. But, oh surprise, it turns out that there were complaints about conduct that violates regulations. In other words, someone passed the police manual through the triumphal arch. The General Directorate of Internal Affairs is already on that, because nothing says “transparency” like having to investigate your own colleagues.
The funniest thing (if anything here can be) is that the corporation has already moved its chips: they adjusted the chain of command and relieved the uniforms involved. I mean, they went from patrolling the streets to… doing paperwork in a windowless office? CDMX style justice.
The victims, Ximena Guzmán and José Muñoz, were close collaborators of the Head of Government, Clara Brugada. And although the crime occurred on May 20 on the Calzada de Tlalpan, it seems that the real suspense plot lies in how the investigation was handled. Improvisation? Concealment? Simple incompetence? The gossip is served, and the Prosecutor’s Office has the complete menu.
What’s next? Hope this doesn’t end in another eternal “will be investigated” while those responsible disappear like canceled influencers. For now, if you want to follow this police drama (which promises more twists than a 9 o’clock soap opera), share the note and continue exploring our content. Because in CDMX, reality always surpasses fiction. #JusticeWithHashtag
