Formula 1 returns to Mexico to celebrate a decade of passion

A decade of overflowing passion is preparing to explode in the heart of Mexico. The roar of the engines announces an epic battle.

A Decade of Epic Speed: The Prelude to Battle

In the beating heart of Mexico City, where the air still holds the echo of past legends, a silent and monumental battle is being fought. It is not with weapons, but with gigantic containers that, like sacred arks of technology, have arrived at the national motor mecca. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez awakens from its annual slumber, transforming from a dream into a tangible reality of asphalt and adrenaline. A full decade has passed since the roar of the queen of motorsport once again shook this land, and destiny has woven a new chapter, one that promises to surpass all expectations. Formula 1 not only returns; is decked out for a celebration that will mark a before and after in the history of motor sports in Latin America.

Each of these containers, sealed with the mystery of innovation, houses the best kept secrets of the ten titanic teams that defy the laws of physics. They are modern blacksmiths forging their weapons of titanium and carbon fiber, preparing for Sunday’s sacred war. Assembly is not mere logistics; It is a meticulous ritual, a choreography of millimeter precision where an error of a single millimeter can mean eternal glory or the abyss of failure. The temple of speed dresses in its best clothes, eagerly awaiting the moment when the heroes of our time, the pilots, set foot on its soil and turn each curve into a feat, each straight line into a challenge to time itself.

The Calm Before the Hurricane: Strategies and Whispers

While the city breathes the apparent calm of an ordinary Monday, behind the walls of the racetrack a storm of strategies and frenetic calculations is brewing. Although the official noise will not explode until Free Practice on Friday the 24th, the mind of every engineer, team leader and driving prodigy is already immersed in a complex game of chess at 300 kilometers per hour. The track maps are displayed like ancient scrolls, studying every pothole, every change in grip, every shadow that could alter the balance of a car. This is the game within the game, the strategy that separates the champions from the mere participants.

The pressure is an invisible burden on everyone’s shoulders. For the drivers, it’s not just another race; It is the Mexican Grand Prix 2025, a scenario where altitude becomes another enemy, stealing breath from the engines and demanding superhuman bravery. Who will dare to brake a millisecond later on the horrifying Banked Curve? Which team will have solved the riddle of tire degradation on this unique track? All eyes are on the favorites, but in this modern coliseum, an unexpected hero always emerges, an underdog who challenges the established order and writes his name with fire in the annals of history. The intrigue is so palpable that you can taste it in the air, a mixture of fuel, burning rubber and pure anticipation.

The atmosphere in these previous days is a combination of nervousness and euphoria. The fans, the true protagonists of this party, are already beginning to gather, carrying the colors of their teams and idols in their hearts. Their energy is the fuel that fuels this monumental celebration. This anniversary edition is not just a sporting event; It is a cultural phenomenon, a testimony of the overflowing passion of a country that lives and dreams with every revolution of the engine. The question on everyone’s mind is not only who will win, but what moment, what overtake, what gesture of pure skill will forever be etched in the collective memory as the defining moment of this great celebration.

The stage is set. The actors wait in the shadows. The countdown has begun. Soon, the silence will be devoured by a deafening roar that will announce the start of a spectacle that will transcend sports to become a legend. Formula 1 in Mexico is about to write, once again, its name in gold letters, in a chapter that promises to be as dramatic, exciting and unforgettable as the ten that preceded it.

Cruz Azul defeats Toluca and takes the Champion of Champions

The celestial Machine confirmed its dominance with a resounding 3-1 victory over the Red Devils.

Cruz Azul is crowned Mexican soccer super champion

Cruz Azul defeated Antonio Mohamed’s Toluca 3-1 at the Dignity Health Sports Park, in Los Angeles. With this victory, he was left with the Champion of Champions and confirmed his dominance in national football.

José Paradela and Carlos Rodríguez were the figures of the meeting. Paradela opened the scoring in the 31st minute, after an assist from Rodríguez. Toluca tied at 45+4′ with a free kick from Alexis Vega. However, at 55′, the light blue duo combined again: Rodríguez assisted Paradela to make it 2-1.

The second goal unleashed the absolute control of Cruz Azul. In the 61st minute, Paradela executed a direct free kick that goalkeeper Luis García could not stop. The score of 3-1 defined the match and left the Red Devils without reaction.

With this title, the team led by Joel Huiqui confirms its status as the best team of the moment. They are the current champions of Liga MX and now also super champions. In the Apertura 2026 they have two consecutive victories.

Cruz Azul is emerging as a strong candidate for the two-time championship. The superiority shown on the field in Los Angeles leaves no doubt about his present.

Chivas beats Juárez with a last-minute goal

A last-gasp goal gave Rebaño Sagrado the first victory of the tournament.

With a goal in injury time, Chivas achieved its first victory in the Apertura 2026. It was 0-1 against the Bravos de Juárez, in a match where the Rebaño Sagrado dominated but lacked forcefulness.

When the clock showed less than 30 seconds left, Roberto ‘Piojo’ Alvarado appeared in the center of the area to define. The goal was possible thanks to a cross from Ricardo Marín, who received a pass from Efraín Álvarez. Alvarado, with a subtle touch, beat goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado, who had had a solid performance.

A start with ups and downs

Chivas had debuted at home with a loss against Toluca. The pressure grew, and the team led by the Argentine strategist needed to add three. Although the performance was superior to that of its rival, the lack of clarity in attack was evident. The coach moved pieces during the match until he found the combination that would unlock the scoreboard.

The semi-final reached in the previous tournament, added to the participation of several players in the World Cup, generated high expectations for this season. However, the start has been complicated. Yesterday, against a defensively organized Juárez, Chivas had to wait until the end to celebrate.

The Sacred Flock comes into this semester as one of the candidates for the title, along with the current champion Cruz Azul. But he needs to improve his effectiveness if he wants to fight for the crown.

Key fact: 0-1 was the final score, with a goal in the 90+5 minute.

River Plate falls to Barracas Central at the start of the Clausura

River Plate lost 1-0 to Barracas Central at the Monumental on the first date of the Argentine Clausura.

River Plate stumbles at home

River Plate began the Clausura Tournament with a 1-0 loss to Barracas Central at the Monumental. The only goal was the work of Gonzalo Morales at 21 minutes.

It was the first victory of the club chaired by Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia against the millionaires in official matches.

The match marked the debut of Nicolás Otamendi and Ángel Correa with River. Otamendi, runner-up in the world, returned to Argentine football after 16 years abroad and was captain. The Colombian Rafael Santos Borré also returned after five seasons. Both were starters under the direction of Ariel Broggi, who replaced the suspended Eduardo Coudet.

Before the start, Otamendi and Gonzalo Montiel received recognition for their participation in the world champion team in Qatar 2022.

Domination without a goal

River was imprecise and did not find clarity in front of the goal. Barracas went into the break with an advantage thanks to a play by Rodrigo Insúa: his shot was cleared by Santiago Beltrán, but the ball went to Morales to score.

In the second half, River could not tie against an opponent who defended and managed time. The best opportunity was a free kick by Facundo Colidio that hit the crossbar in the 54th minute. Correa entered at 66 in place of Colidio.

“The responsibility is always ours. We have to continue working,” Otamendi declared on TV. “I understand people’s anger. We are in the best club in Argentina. We lacked patience. Generate scoring chances.”
