A bittersweet victory for Sacramento
The Sacramento Kings closed their home season with a character victory. They defeated the Golden State Warriors 124-118 in a game full of individual stories.
The paradox is that this victory does not improve his position in the draft lottery. They remain tied with Utah, sharing the fourth-worst record in the league.
Night of emerging stars
Two young people stole the show. Devin Carter exploded with 29 points, the best mark of his professional career. For Sacramento, Maxime Raynaud contributed 23 points.
On the other side, Brandon Podziemski also shone with his personal maximum: 30 points. The Warriors used the game as a rehearsal for next week’s play-in mini-tournament.
Coach Steve Kerr stated before the game that he wanted both teams to have as much time as possible in the last two games.
The return of Curry and the Porzingis experiment
This was only the second game that Stephen Curry and Kristaps Porzingis played together in the gold jersey. They shared the court for a short time last Sunday.
Curry was returning after missing 27 games due to a knee injury. Both scored 11 points each in this test ahead of the play-in.
Golden State is already assured of tenth place in the West. They will need to win two games in a row in the play-in to reach the playoffs. The real test begins now.
