Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock to star in romantic thriller

The iconic actors come together again in a project that combines romance and suspense, produced by Amazon.

Cinematic reunion of two Hollywood icons

The acclaimed actors Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, whose on-screen chemistry captivated audiences in Speed (1994), will once again share credits in a romantic thriller produced by Amazon MGM Studios. As reported by Variety, the project does not yet have a title, but promises an intense and exciting narrative, written by screenwriter Noah Oppenheim, known for his work on Jackie and Zero Day.

Production details and creative team

The film will feature Bullock through his production company Fortis Films, while Reeves will collaborate with Mark Gordon and Bibby Dunn of The Mark Gordon Company. Additionally, Oppenheim and Sarah Bremner of Prologue Entertainment will be involved in developing the script. The backing of Mark Gordon Pictures, responsible for hits such as Saving Private Ryan and The Day After Tomorrow, ensures a high level of production.

The project also bears the seal of Prologue Entertainment, founded by Oppenheim, Bremner and Lloyd Braun, recognized for its focus on well-structured stories and innovative narratives. This combination of talent suggests a high-quality cinematographic result.

History of collaborations and recent career

The Reeves-Bullock duo not only left their mark on Speed, but also starred in the supernatural drama The Lake House (2006), consolidating their artistic connection. Reeves, 60, is still at the top of his career after the success of John Wick: Chapter 4 and his return as Neo in Matrix Resurrections. For her part, Bullock, Oscar winner for A Possible Dream and nominated for Gravity, has maintained her relevance with recent hits such as The Lost City and Bird Box.

Expectations and projection of the project

The reunion of these two cinema icons promises to be one of the most anticipated releases in the coming years. The combination of a romantic thriller with the proven talent of both actors and an elite creative team generates high expectations. Although the plot is being kept under wraps, Amazon MGM Studios’ involvement suggests global distribution and possibly an innovative approach to the genre.

This project not only revives a memorable collaboration, but also reinforces the versatility of Reeves and Bullock, capable of moving between genres without losing their impact on the audience. Movie fans are on the lookout for more details, which will surely be revealed in the coming months.

Macarena Miguel returns to the screen with ‘Family Therapy’ at GIFF

The actress combines motherhood and work while promoting her new film in Guanajuato.

Macarena Miguel shows that motherhood and career can go hand in hand. The actress presents Family Therapy, a dramatic comedy directed by Mariana González, on July 25 within the framework of the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF). The venues will be the capital of Bajío and San Miguel de Allende.

A family shoot

The plot follows a mother who returns to Mexico to tell her children something that will change their perception of her. The cast includes Dominica Paleta, Karla Coronado, Claudio Roca, Rubén Zamora and Daniel Martínez.

“It’s a road trip with the whole family. My character is that of an independent woman crazy about her career who is in a relationship, but is afraid of it because her parents are divorced. She is someone strong and determined who has to go on this trip through many places like Bali,” says Miguel.

The filming had a personal challenge: the actress did the callback when she was eight and a half months pregnant. She filmed when her first baby was three months old. Now, with a two-month-old little girl, she is preparing for the premiere.

“We filmed it in San Miguel and fortunately my parents live there, they helped me, and so did my husband. (The baby) I suddenly took him to the set. The hardest part for me was that on the one hand I was happy doing what I like, but there was a certain guilt that we mothers usually feel when we leave him.”

The actress is confident that the film will have a run at festivals before its commercial release. For now, GIFF marks the beginning of that path.

Pablo Cruz Guerrero: from Chespirito’s biopic to horror films

The actor takes a turn to horror alongside Mabel Cadena in a film about the Capgras delirium.

Pablo Cruz Guerrero’s career takes an unexpected turn. A year after playing Roberto Gómez Bolaños in the bioseries “Chespirito: sin lovingly wanting,” the actor delves into horror films.

Along with Mabel Cadena—the Namora of “Black Panther: Wakanda forever”—he stars in “The Woman Who Dreamed Underwater,” currently in post-production. The plot follows a family traveling to reconnect after the loss of their third child, a newborn. The mother begins to suspect that her loved ones have been replaced by impostors.

“I am the husband who wants to reconcile all the time, but it is difficult to be because in the couple it already seems like something that cannot be done,” Cruz Guerrero advances. “It’s a horror film in which several things happen. It’s fun to do the genre, especially alongside someone like Mabel. We hope it can be seen at the end of the year.”

A promising debut

The film is the debut feature of Ale García and Carla Sierra. His script was developed at festivals such as Sitges – the most relevant fantasy film competition in the world – and the Fantastic 7 in Cannes, where it received positive comments. The story is inspired by Capgras syndrome, a disorder that leads sufferers to believe that family and friends have been replaced by doubles; They recognize the face and clothing, but deny the identity and react with hostility.

Cruz Guerrero began his film career with the comedy “Casi divas” (2008), but it was a year later when he came to prominence in “The Student.” Regarding the filming of the Chespirito bioseries—which he has only seen once—he confesses that he felt insecure. However, the cast, which he calls a “group of misfits”, gave him the feeling of delivering. “Once characterized, we were like a family,” he says.

The actor recognizes that the bioseries opened doors. From the set he only has “some pins and something else.” He tried to keep the screaming chipote, but the producer refused. “That was for them,” he remembers with a laugh.

Today, people recognize him on the street, even with a long beard. A sign that the work, he says, was not bad.

Pedro Sola faces legal complaint for comments about dogs

They denounce Pedro Sola for advocating animal abuse. The organization Goes for your rights filed a formal complaint.

Controversy on television reaches court

The statements of the host Pedro Sola about dogs in pet-friendly spaces have crossed the screen. The association Va por sus Derechos filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR).

As reported on social networks, on July 10 they filed the appeal against Sola and against those responsible for supporting his statements. The accusations are for apology for animal abuse and public incitement to commit a crime.

“We cannot allow violence that continues to claim lives from a space of national reach to be normalized,” the organization wrote on Instagram.

The origin of the scandal

On July 6, during the broadcast of Ventaneando, Sola criticized those who bring pets to public places. He even suggested that it was preferable to poison them. Hours later he offered a public apology, but the damage had already been done.

As a result of this, a petition is circulating on Change.org demanding the dismissal of Pedro Sola and Pati Chapoy, in addition to the cancellation of the program. Signature collection is still active.

The complainant association emphasized that these expressions cannot be ignored. “Animal abuse is not a joke, it is not entertainment and it will never be acceptable,” he stated.

The case is now in the hands of the FGR, while the animal defense community awaits a resolution.
