Iron Maiden opens a new chapter. The legendary British band announced an alliance with Pophouse Entertainment, the label co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus. The company acquired a stake in his music catalog, publishing rights, master recordings, name, image and the iconic Eddie mascot.
Although the amount was not disclosed, Billboard reported that Pophouse purchased 50% of those assets. The agreement seeks to develop new experiences for fans and bring the group’s music to new generations.
Strategic alliance
Iron Maiden, formed in London in 1975, has sold around 100 million records. They are considered one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.
As part of the alliance, the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience project has already begun, an immersive experience that celebrates the group’s 50 years. Eddie is a central figure in the story. They are also working on a film about the Run for Your Lives tour and plan to create a digital universe around the famous character.
Manager Rod Smallwood assured that this partnership will accelerate projects that the band had been planning for years.
“Fans can be sure that there is much more to come for Maiden, and Eddie will continue to rule,” he said.
