Change of political course in Baja California Sur
María Azucena Meza Gómez, who was state coordinator of Somos MX in Baja California Sur, announced her affiliation to the National Action Party (PAN). Their objective is to register as a candidate for the candidacy for the Municipal Presidency of La Paz in the next electoral process.
The announcement was made at the PAN state headquarters in La Paz, with the presence of leader Rigoberto Mares Aguilar. Meza Gómez stated that she is beginning a new stage accompanied by citizens, community representatives and people she identified as part of the structures of the Sombrero Movement and Somos MX in the entity.
Unity project and municipal agenda
The candidate pointed out that her project seeks to become a factor of unity inside and outside the PAN, in addition to building an alternative for the municipality. Among the priority issues to be addressed are the water crisis, public services, urban growth, rural communities and public safety.
Given the movement, Somos MX Baja California Sur reported that it will begin the formal process of disaffiliation of those who decided to join other political projects. The organization recalled that its statutes establish that members of its management bodies cannot seek elected positions while they occupy those functions, and that candidates must go through internal evaluation processes.
