The Fonacot raises the curtain: more credit, less paperwork
The institution already has the script written for 2026. Its goal is clear: beat its own record of more than 2 million 197 thousand grants granted last year. It is not just about numbers, but about expanding access to labor rights with low rates and safe procedures.
How do you plan to achieve it? The play has three main acts. Improve internal operational processes, strengthen the technology that supports them and increase customer service capacity. Demand is growing and they do not want to be left behind.
But here is the detail that changes the work. Salvador Gazca Herrera, commercial coordinator of the institute, made it clear:
“We are not only seeking to provide more financing, but to do so with social responsibility, ensuring that the resource really contributes to improving the quality of life of Mexican families.”
That is, credit should be a tool, not just a number on a report. A real boost for personal and family projects.
The key piece: companies
The plan has a central axis: getting more companies, large and small, to comply with joining Fonacot. It is their legal obligation, but many resist. The institute will continue to strengthen its membership system to make it more agile.
Gazca Herrera recalled the advantages: workers can obtain up to four months of salary, with flexible payment terms and direct payroll deduction. All procedures are free and without intermediaries.
His call was direct: avoid managers and only use official channels. Every peso counts.
In the end, this is not a simple institutional goal. More membership means more workers with access to financing under fair conditions. And that, in the great theater of the national economy, is an act that can improve the development of the country.
The performance has already started. We will see in 2026 if the public—the workers—come out applauding.
