New revelations in the case of the femicide of Ivón Maricela López
The feminicide of Ivón Maricela López, which occurred in Coyoacán, has taken a complex turn after the dissemination of videos that suggest the participation of at least six people in the crime. Maricela Rosendo Camacho, mother of the victim, denounces the slowness in the investigations and the lack of action by the authorities, despite having presented compelling evidence. “Not only did they kill my daughter, but they left my grandson motherless and a family destroyed,” he expressed with pain.
Technical details and research progress
So far, two women have been linked to the process for their presence during the events. One of them had a previous relationship with the victim. In addition, an arrest warrant was issued against Agustín “N”, owner of the property where the crime occurred in Pedregal Santo Domingo, who remains a fugitive. According to testimonies, Agustín would have actively participated in disposing of the body, which was transported to Morelos in a sand-colored vehicle that has not yet been located.
The necropsy performed on Ivón revealed a cutting wound that covered 70% of her neck, as well as multiple blows that suggest torture. Although no signs of sexual violence were found, the body was found without clothes, which adds seriousness to the case. Neighbors confirmed to the family that they heard cries for help, but no one intervened, a detail that shows social complicity and apathy in the face of gender violence.
Family impact and demand for justice
Ivón’s son, just 7 years old, faces a devastating emotional situation. “She knows that her mother died, but she is unaware of the horrors she experienced,” Maricela said. The family demands that the authorities delve deeper into the lines of investigation, especially in tracking the vehicles used and in the capture of Agustín “N”, identified as one of the main perpetrators.
The crime occurred after Ivón was invited to a party by two women, who are now in custody. His body was found days later in Morelos, after a disappearance report. The lack of progress in the case reflects a pattern of impunity that outrages human rights organizations.
What’s next? Social and media pressure could accelerate the investigations, but the family insists that they will not rest until they achieve justice. Share this information to make the case visible and demand concrete actions against violence against women.
