A police drama that shakes Guadalajara
In the shadows of the city, where power and law are intertwined with violence, Margarita Moreno Ocegueda, a Guadalajara police officer and escort of the former Secretary of Security Juan Bosco Agustín Pacheco Medrano, finds herself in the eye of the hurricane. The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office has decided to lift the curtain on this scandal: it will accuse her of attempted murder and dispossession, in a case that seems taken from a criminal thriller.
The shot that changed everything
It all started in a house in the Río Verde neighborhood, where the tranquility was broken on April 8. Between screams and tensions, the escort, armed and off-duty, activated their weapon. The bullets pierced the walls, forever marking the spot where the victim, a defenseless tenant, tried to flee. Injured and vulnerable, she was taken to the hospital, while her landlady and accomplices emptied the house without legal justification.
On April 11, justice broke into Moreno Ocegueda’s home. Between uniforms, official insignia and .380, .40 and 9 millimeter caliber cartridges, the evidence spoke for itself. The Prosecutor’s Office, armed with ballistic reports, is preparing its final move: to bring the bodyguard and three accomplices whose identities are still hidden in the shadows before the judge.
When will the hearing be? The silence of the authorities only adds mystery to this case that has shocked Guadalajara. Meanwhile, the bullet marks are still there, reminding us that the line between order and chaos is thinner than it seems.
