Visualize the State as the great conductor of the orchestra, maintaining the leadership, while private initiative and academia contribute their magic: resources, cutting-edge technology and invaluable knowledge. This is the dream team to unlock our nation’s mineral wealth. And let’s talk about transparency, because when we operate with clean hearts and hands, trust flourishes and projects multiply. In addition, there is a collective desire to return the Mining Fund to the municipalities that are the soul of this activity, ensuring that each resource drives local development and celebrates the progress of each community.
But, attention! 2024 showed us a sign that we cannot ignore: a decrease in exploration. And we all know that without exploration there are no discoveries, without discoveries there are no new projects, and without projects… the industrial future is blurred. Pending concessions and delays are like stones on the road, but each stone can be used to build a stronger foundation. Let us not allow capital and opportunities to migrate to other destinations; Mexico has infinite potential and we deserve to be the number one choice for global investment.

It is a spark of light that indicates a correct path. However, we recognize that the Mexican Geological Survey needs our support and resources to shine with all its intensity in the face of the vastness of our mineral potential. It is also time to talk about expanding open pit operations, always guided by technical feasibility and responsibility, not by agendas unrelated to sustainable progress. The industry is more committed than ever to being guardians of the environment, demonstrating that development and conservation can go hand in hand.
And the government’s response, led by Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, fills us with optimism. Its commitment to the sector by 2026 and the tasks initiated to reactivate exploration and expedite permits are music to our ears. His words resonate strongly: access to minerals and their processing is not only an issue of competitiveness, it is a fundamental pillar for the security of the national supply chain.
