Police operation culminates with the capture of an alleged feminicide
An individual wanted for the crimes of femicide and aggravated homicide was detained on the Apaseo el Grande highway, in the section of the San Ramón community, while he was traveling on a motorcycle carrying enough narcotics for 800 doses. The subject, identified as Diego Serafín “N”, 34 years old, was facing two arrest warrants issued by a criminal judge for the murder of a woman and her daughter.
Security and detention strategy
The Secretary of Security and Peace of the state of Guanajuato reported that the capture was achieved under the CONFIA strategy (Operational Coordination of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force), designed to neutralize generators of violence. The operation was carried out through focused patrols on the Apaseo el Grande-San Ramón highway, near the access bridge to the community.
Agents from the State Public Security Forces (FSPE) detected a couple on a motorcycle without license plates or protective equipment, which prompted a preventive inspection. During the search, a package with 502 grams of marijuana and 24 doses of a crystal-like substance was found in Serafín “N’s” possession. His companion, Guadalupe “N”, 29 years old, was carrying four packages with a blue granulated substance, presumably methamphetamine, weighing 101 grams (equivalent to 303 doses).
Context and implications
This case reflects the seriousness of gender violence and drug trafficking in the region, two problems that are often intertwined. The arrest not only dismantles an alleged perpetrator of crimes against women, but also seizes a significant amount of narcotics, which impacts local distribution networks.
The authorities highlighted that both detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, where the formal charges will be determined. The motorcycle and the seized substances will be incorporated as evidence in the corresponding investigations.
