The musician Cruz Martínez, known as the Kumbia King, shared the news of the death of his mother, Mrs. María de los Ángeles Martínez, on Instagram. The lady, who was affectionately called Mrs. Gela, died on the same day as her son Danny’s birthday, who died four years ago.
A goodbye in networks
In a series of images, Martínez showed moments of his mother: from her youth to recent photos with her grandchildren, including the children she had with Alicia Villarreal, Cruz Ángelo and Félix Stefano.
“Today my heart says goodbye to the most important woman in my life, my mother, the woman who gave me life, who loved me with all her heart and who never stopped fighting, no matter how difficult the road was,” the artist wrote.
Single mother and example of strength
Cruz recalled Doña Gela’s efforts to raise her five children without parental support. “As a single mother, you raised five children, with a strength that only God could give you; you taught us that life is not always fair, but that we should never give up,” she said.
The chosen date
The producer revealed that his mother decided when to leave. “You yourself chose your day of departure… because you wanted to go give my brother Danny a hug. I’m sure they are together again, hugging in the presence of God,” he said.
Legacy and gratitude
Martínez thanked her mother for her legacy: “Thank you, mom, for every second of your life. Thank you for every hug, every advice, every prayer, every sacrifice and for absolutely everything you did for us.”
The family now faces grief, while the musician’s followers have filled their networks with messages of support.
