Ebola outbreak in Congo accelerates
The Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo reported that the Ebola outbreak continues to spread rapidly. In the last 24 hours, 72 new cases were registered, raising the total to 782 confirmed infections. Authorities report 181 deaths linked to the virus.
Active transmission persists in regions that are difficult to access. Health authorities recognize that the remoteness of these areas complicates containment efforts. Response teams have intensified community surveillance and detection of suspected cases.
Given the increase in infections, the Ministry of Health has requested international support. The call includes medical resources and trained personnel to stop the spread of the virus and care for those affected. Global cooperation is key to preventing the crisis from escalating.
