The Democratic Republic of the Congo reports a significant increase in Ebola infections. So far, 282 cases have been confirmed, most in the eastern province of Ituri. Health authorities indicate that more than a thousand suspected cases have been registered since the emergency began, linked to the Bundibugyo variant of the virus.
Challenges in containment
The Ministry of Health details that the disease has spread to 22 health zones in three eastern provinces. Efforts to stop the outbreak face significant obstacles: limited medical infrastructure, late detection of infections and difficulties in tracing contacts in remote communities. The situation requires a coordinated response to prevent the virus from advancing to other regions.
