Maru Campos’ response to Javier Corral
The governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos, reacted to Senator Javier Corral’s announcement to withdraw a judicial challenge. He said he hopes that his predecessor “is running out of 20,” in reference to the long dispute between them.
Campos accused Corral of having promoted political accusations against him for more than a decade. He questioned his decision to abandon the legal appeal, after the senator reported, together with his team, that he was withdrawing from the action linked to a procedure that occurred in August 2024.
The conflict between both former governors has marked state politics. Campos indicated that he now hopes that the facts will be clarified and justice will be done. The president avoided giving more details about the case.
