The bad news that no one wanted to read
The Caifanes concert that had half of Mexico making plans for April 18, 2026 went to hell. Definitely. And no, it wasn’t the fault of the band or the organizers.
The promoter Apodaca Group released the official statement and the truth is it hurts to read it. The show at the Otomí Ceremonial Center, in Temoaya, State of Mexico, is simply not going to happen.
“We know what this concert meant to you and we share your disappointment,”
says the text. And it feels genuine, because canceling an event like this is a low blow for everyone.
The permit that disappeared
Here’s the most frustrating thing: initially they DID have the permit. The State Commission of Natural Parks (CEPANAF) had given them approval. Everything seemed in order.
But on March 27, CEPANAF itself changed the rules of the game. They were notified that they could no longer maintain that permit. Their excuse: conditions that affect public safety in the area.
According to them, the region “does not currently have adequate conditions”. Spot. The promoter insists that they complied with everything they asked of them… until they said no.
And now what? The only clear thing is the refund. All tickets will be 100% refunded, including service charges. If you bought your ticket, you have to go to the help section on the Eticket website to start the process.
A weekend plan ruined by a bureaucratic notification. This is how we are.
