A lifeless body was located inside the Nueva Castilla Motel, on the Highway to Laredo, in Escobedo, Nuevo León. The State Prosecutor’s Office began an investigation after the discovery reported early Sunday morning.
The discovery
Elements of the Escobedo Police went to the scene around 1:15 a.m. after a tip. A group of people recording content for digital platforms entered the abandoned motel and found the body. They reported it to the authorities.
Municipal police cordoned off the area. Subsequently, agents from the State Investigation Agency took over the investigations. Personnel from the Institute of Criminalistics and Expert Services processed the scene and collected evidence. The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service to determine cause of death and identity.
Unofficial versions indicate that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition. Days before, other people who entered the property to record paranormal phenomena reported intense odors, but there was no intervention. Those who found the body observed apparent blood stains, which will be corroborated by experts.
The Nueva Castilla Motel gained notoriety in 2022, when the body of young Debanhi Escobar was located in a cistern after her disappearance. The property was under official guard, then it was released and is now abandoned.
The authorities have not issued official information about the identity of the deceased or the circumstances of the death.
