ÚRSULO GALVÁN, SEE. – In a Solemn Session of the Town Council, Bertín Bravo Montero was sworn in as municipal president of Úrsulo Galván for the period 2026–2029, marking a historic moment by having for the first time a Town Council made up of four women.
The formal event was held on the Dome field of the municipal seat, where representatives from various sectors of the municipality, civil and military authorities, as well as special guests gathered, including Aura Ochoa Ortiz, in charge of the Civil Registry on behalf of the Secretary of Government, Ricardo Ahued Bardahuil, and the mayors Carlos Reyes Bretón (La Antigua), Roberto Ixtla Campuzano (Jalcomulco) and Uriel Peralta Barrios (Paso de Ovejas).
During his message, Bravo Montero emphasized that this transition not only means a change of government, but an opportunity to do things better and regain the trust of citizens. Under the slogan “United for Our Municipality”, the president assured that the Municipal Palace will be open doors, close to the population, walking through the streets and addressing head-on the needs of the neighborhoods and 21 Galvan communities.
Likewise, he committed to guarantee transparency in the management of public resources, remembering that the municipality’s money is from the people and for the people.
In this historic session, Bravo Montero sworn in his Council, made up of: Marina Hernández Zavaleta, sole trustee; Estefanía Ruíz Íñiguez, first councilor; Xóchilt Platas Orostico, second councilor; and Nayra Verdejo López, third councilor, setting a precedent in female participation in municipal administration.
The event reflected the beginning of a new stage of government in Úrsulo Galván, with a focus on proximity to citizens, administrative efficiency and commitment to the development of the municipality.
