The Italian tenor joins the celebration
A few days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA added a new figure to its musical lineup: Andrea Bocelli. The news was confirmed this afternoon on the Italian singer’s social networks.
“I have the honor to announce that I will be joining the FIFA Countdown Concert in Mexico City,” Bocelli wrote on Instagram. The artist highlighted the power of football to connect people from different parts of the world.
“Football has a unique way of uniting hearts, generations and nations. It will be a privilege to celebrate this special countdown to the FIFA World Cup through music,” he said.

Until a few days ago, FIFA had confirmed that the concert in the Mexican capital would be headlined by Los Ángeles Azules, Belinda and Elena Rose, as well as a surprise guest who is now known to be Bocelli, performer of “Vivo por ella”.
The FIFA Countdown Concert will take place this Wednesday, June 10, simultaneously in Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles, connecting the three World Cup host nations. It will be broadcast live on the federation’s official platforms.
