Antero Ugalde, father of the singer Ana Bárbara, has made public the reasons for the estrangement with his daughter. In an interview with the program Venga la salud, he stated that it was the interpreter of Bandido who ordered him to be physically attacked for talking about his fractured relationship.
The trigger, according to Ugalde, was his statements to various media about the deteriorated relationship. Shortly after, his son Francisco “Pancho” Ugalde showed up at his house with a warning.
The father’s version
“Pancho was the one who came here to finish me off, when he came to tell me that Ana Bárbara, when I spoke to the media, told her: ‘Go and hit my dad hard,’ Pancho told me.”
Don Antero claims that his son confessed to him that Ana Bárbara had asked him to hit him as a result of the interviews. Visibly upset, he called the singer a “bad daughter,” arguing that he always looked out for her well-being and that she turned her back on him.
“Because you started appearing in the media,” Pancho told him, “he told me to hit you.” The father remembers responding to his son that he didn’t know what he was getting into: “Imagine that you touch a hair of my hair, you die there and I die there too.”
To date, neither Ana Bárbara nor her representation have issued a public response to these accusations. The conflict between the father and the singer has been a recurring topic in the entertainment press for years.
