A tie that tastes like little
The FIFA Date did not extinguish Mexican football. In Arkansas, América and Tigres signed a draw (1-1) in a duel that served as an appetizer before the reopening of the Azteca.
A two-sided match. While the men tied, the women’s Águilas did celebrate a victory (2-1) over their rivals, the Tigres Amazons.
Annulled goals and a bittersweet taste
José Raúl Zúñiga opened the scoring in the 58th minute. The ‘Pantera’ took advantage of a filtered pass from Patricio Salas to beat Nahuel Guzmán. The azulcrema victory seemed close.
But football is like that. Ozziel Herrera crossed and Juan Brunetta, in the 83rd minute, finished inside the area to give life to Tigres. The tie came at Razorback Stadium.
“The victory was denied to both teams because, at different times, they faced goals disallowed for offside,” detailed the match report.
That situation left a final image of upset footballers. They both wanted more, but the scoreboard didn’t move. Now, the mind returns to Liga MX.
What’s next:
- Friday, April 3: Tijuana vs Tigres (J13 Clausura 2026)
- Saturday April 4: Santos Laguna vs América (J13 Clausura 2026)
An intense friendly that showed that, even without points at stake, pride is never at rest.
