First names on the table
The Mexican Football Federation and Javier Aguirre released the first part of the list heading to the World Cup 2026. Twelve players who play in the Liga MX already have their place secured. The other fourteen, all from abroad, will be known on June 1, as established by FIFA regulations.
Absences that hurt
But be careful, not everything is celebration. Vasco left out several names that were part of the process since its arrival in 2024. Some by technical decision, others due to injury. Marcel Ruiz did not finish well at the end of the tournament and was left out.
“These are some names that do not appear on the list of the Mexican National Team heading to the 2026 World Cup”
Carlos Rodríguez (Cruz Azul), Everardo López (Toluca), Erick Sánchez (América), Marcel Ruiz (Toluca) and Richard Ledezma (Chivas) are the ones that resonate the most.
What’s coming
The fans are already with their hearts in their fists. Each absence generates doubts, but also confidence in what Aguirre is building. The coaching staff is clear that each decision weighs as a final one. The final list will be key to measuring strength in the most important tournament.
As they say in the locker room: it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. And this team is hungry to show that it can go far.
