The show that no one expected (and everyone needed)
Susana Zabaleta promised a concert. What he delivered was something completely different. At the Lunario of the National Auditorium, ‘Mi Pecado Mortal’ was transformed into a hybrid show where music was just the excuse to talk about everything else.
Politics, religion, sex and even politically correct language paraded across the stage. And the audience, which included Yordi Rosado among other celebrities, couldn’t believe what they were hearing.
“How are you? I thought everyone was going to go with the Trevi,” Zabaleta said as soon as he started. “You better be bitches, because if you don’t sui your mother and whoever betrays his mother his anus rots, so ugly.”
From Bad Bunny to Peña Nieto jokes
Irreverence was the norm for almost two hours. Between jokes about Enrique Peña Nieto and how “his lack of culture drove the PRI out of the government,” Zabaleta mixed completely disparate topics.
Their setlist was as unpredictable as their monologues: from Josean Long’s “Beso” to Bad Bunny’s “DtMF”, passing through classics like La Maldita Vecindad’s “Kumbala”.
The most curious thing is that not even she herself seemed to know why she was talking about certain topics. > “One of my big problems,” she confessed, also referring to her boyfriend Ricardo Pérez, “is talking and reaching unexpected places.”
The most emotional moment came at the end, when after saying goodbye he returned to the stage with his son-in-law to perform “Bésame Mucho” a cappella. A perfect ending to a night where nothing went as planned… and everything turned out better.
