Four decades after starting her career in the Parchís children’s group, Yolanda Ventura believes that the conditions for minors working in the entertainment industry have changed significantly. And for the better.
“The work days in Parchís were very long. The truth is you don’t feel it because you’re working. In that sense we were very successful, we went to the best hotels, but definitely as children we wouldn’t have to work,” says Ventura.
Now, he assures, minors are more protected, especially with regard to their education. Something that during his childhood was not always a priority.
“Today it is very regulated, the recording of a series can be stopped if one of the children fails an exam,” he explains.
Ventura does not reject minors participating in artistic projects, as long as there are clear rules that allow them to maintain a balanced childhood.
“I am in favor of children working because they like the character, as long as it is regulated,” he says.
Currently, the actress participates in the soap opera “So close to you, love is born”, where she plays Mamita Chelo, a loving woman who shares the scene with the children Kaled Acab and Bárbara Carbajal.
