British actor Mike Preston, famous for playing ‘Papagallo’ in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, died at the age of 93. The news was confirmed by his wife, Josie Preston, to Variety magazine. The death occurred on June 8 in Florida. So far, the cause has not been revealed.

From music to the road

Preston – whose real name was Jack Davis – began his career as a singer. In the late 1950s, his version ofMr. Bluehit the charts. He later emigrated to Australia, where he worked in nightclubs and hosted the show In Melbourne Tonight.

His leap into acting came with the police series Homicide, where he played detective Bob Delaney. Then he joined the soap opera Bellbird and participated in productions such as Tandarra, Cop Shop and Chopper Squad.

On-screen legacy

He made his film debut with Stoney (1969), but his most memorable role was in the sequel to Mad Max. He also acted in the science fiction film Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn. On television, he had appearances in series such as Ellen, Alien Nation and Law and Order.

Before dedicating himself to entertainment, Preston was a boxer. His last artistic work was as a voice actor in the video game The Getaway (2002).

The family grows

Carlos Rivera and Cynthia Rodríguez announced that they are expecting their second daughter. The news was shared on Instagram with a message full of emotion.

“We asked you like a miracle, and faith made us look for you,” wrote the singer, taking up a fragment of the song he composed for his first son, León.

In the photograph you can see a blanket, a knitted outfit and a rose, details that reveal that they are expecting a girl. The hands of Rivera, Rodríguez and little León also appear.
