A firm step towards justice
At a crucial moment for the fight against gender violence, Kelvin Josué Farías Robles has been linked to trial for the feminicide of Karla Bañuelos, a case that has shocked Jalisco society. The judicial decision not only reflects the commitment of the authorities, but also the importance of acting decisively in the face of crimes that threaten the life and dignity of women.
Details of the legal process
The accused was detained in the Loma Dorada Colony, in Tonalá, after agents completed an arrest warrant against him. The State Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the judge of the Sixteenth Court of Control and Oral Trial established an unofficial preventive detention for one year, in addition to a maximum period of six months for the complementary investigation. These types of measures are essential to guarantee that there is no impunity in such serious cases.
The evidence collected, including images from a security camera at the scene, was decisive in linking the accused. The work of the Deputy Prosecutor’s Office in Specialized Investigation in Attention to Women, Girls, Boys and Adolescents has been key to bringing this case to justice.
A clear message against violence
This case is not only a reminder of the importance of criminal justice, but also of the need to continue working on the prevention and eradication of gender violence. Each step towards the conviction of a feminicide reinforces the message that these crimes will not be tolerated.
Currently, the accused is in Puente Grande, in provisional cells in the minimum risk area, awaiting his final destination within the prison system. His capture in department 402 of Loma Chapal Norte, where he was allegedly hiding, shows that citizen collaboration and police work are essential to solve these cases.
