The lesson of Belgium
The 5-0 defeat against Belgium was a severe blow, but Tunisia is already looking up. The African team is focused on its debut against Sweden, convinced that it can start with victory.
Ali Abdi, Nice defender, assured that they learned valuable lessons from the previous match. The group prefers to focus on the positive and preserve trust.
“We learned a lot from that game… We must focus on the positive aspects; now we are at a good level,” he said from the Monterrey Stadium.
The defender stressed that the team arrives backed by recent work and with the desire to represent their country with dignity.
“We are not going to stay in negative situations. We want a performance that our nation will be proud of.”
Despite respect for Sweden, in the Tunisian dressing room they maintain the hope of starting with a victory. Abdi stated that the objective is to compete as equals.
“We are trying to play a good game and we hope to start this competition well.”
Coach Sabri Lamouchi admitted that the demands are high, but he trusts his players. The goal is still to qualify for the next round.
“The pressure is very high, but our goal is to qualify. In the last friendlies we were not at the level.”
Tunisia seeks to put the blow behind it and demonstrate its ability in the tournament.
