What started as a vacation ended in an emergency scene
The tranquility of the morning at the NH Collection hotel, in the heart of Mérida, was broken this Friday. A call for help from a room changed everything. The wife of an 84-year-old visitor, originally from San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, desperately alerted the management.
Her husband, Jorge Antonio T. R., had suddenly begun to convulse. The facility’s medical staff came immediately and fought for his life. The efforts, however, were not enough. Minutes later, the man died in front of his family, far from home.
The investigation rules out the criminal and confirms the tragic
The scene was soon filled with the blue flashes of patrol cars. Elements of the State Investigative Police (PEI) and experts from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) cordoned off the area. His work was meticulous but fast.
The first investigations led to a clear and heartbreaking conclusion. The authorities confirmed that the death was due to natural causes. Specifically, to an acute myocardial infarction, derived from previous conditions that the man suffered.
“After the first investigations, the authorities confirmed that the death was due to natural causes.”
When any criminal act was ruled out, the protocol continued. A private doctor certified the death and a local funeral home was responsible for the removal of the body. Personal tragedy became an official procedure.
A vacation stay that promised rest in white Mérida ended up being the final scenario for a man who was only looking for peace. A brutal reminder of how life can change in an instant, even in the most beautiful places.
