Katy Perry condemns use of ‘Firework’ in White House video

Katy Perry is outraged by the use of her song without permission in a war clip from the White House.

A video released by Donald Trump’s administration on TikTok shows an alleged military operation with images of missiles impacting near the sea. The clip uses Katy Perry’s 2010 hit “Firework” in the background. The singer reacted this Saturday on X, where she expressed her discomfort.

“I did not approve of this, I was not asked to and I do not approve of this at all,” Perry wrote.

The artist pointed out that her song represents a message of hope and inner strength. “To see a message of self-esteem and upliftment transformed into a soundtrack for destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song represents.” He added that music should unite, not glorify war.

Previous reactions from other artists

It is not the first time that the US government has received criticism for using songs without consent. At the beginning of the year, Kesha questioned the use of “Blow” in an audiovisual with fighter jets. In 2025, Sabrina Carpenter refused to allow “Juno” to appear in a video related to ICE immigration arrests.

The White House clip includes the message “Has Iran been warned?” Perry joins the list of performers who demand respect for their work.

Messages confirm D4vd’s relationship with Celeste Rivas

Prosecutors presented evidence that confirms the sentimental link between the rapper and the 14-year-old victim.

The preliminary hearing against rapper D4vd for the violent death of Celeste Rivas revealed new details. The Los Angeles Prosecutor’s Office presented text messages that prove a romantic relationship between the artist and the 14-year-old teenager.

According to information from TMZ, prosecutors indicated that Celeste decided to end D4vd a month before her death. In addition, it was learned that the young woman became pregnant and underwent a pregnancy termination.

The authorities also found intimate images between the two. During the hearing, Celeste’s family was asked to leave the courtroom before describing that material.

The possible motive for the crime

The prosecution maintains that D4vd would have caused Celeste’s death to prevent her from divulging what happened between them. The rapper, for his part, has pleaded not guilty. The case continues its legal course.

The public responded with applause and shows of support. Hours later, his representation confirmed that nasal discomfort affected vocal performance. The details to replace the date in full will be announced shortly.
