Hundreds of athletes from at least eight countries will compete in the NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball Tour in May 2026.

The southern area of ​​Tamaulipas is getting ready to receive hundreds of international tourists with the NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball Tour 2026. The competition will take place from May 22 to 24 at the Miramar Beach Sports Complex, reported Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism in Tamaulipas.

The event confirms the region’s organizational capacity and infrastructure to host high-level international competitions.

“Each sporting event represents hotel occupancy, movement in restaurants, consumption in shops, transportation, promotion of the destination and, above all, an opportunity to continue strengthening the positive image of our state,” said Hernández Rodríguez.

The official added that, with the encouragement of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, sports tourism has been strongly promoted in the entity.

“We understand that this segment generates very important benefits for our communities,” he said.

In recent years, Tamaulipas has hosted competitions such as the AsTri Tamaulipas Ichich Tenek Triathlon, the Gran Fondo de Ciclismo, the Bicentennial Marathon and sport fishing tournaments. This consolidates an agenda that positions the state as a benchmark for sports tourism in the northeast of the country.

“We are proud that Ciudad Madero receives athletes from different countries, including delegations from the United States, Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Mexico, among others,” highlighted the secretary.

Erasmo González Robledo, municipal president of Ciudad Madero, and other personalities participated in the presentation of the tournament.
