The Ministry of Labor and Social Security (STPS) issued a warning regarding the possible presence of people posing as federal inspectors. He recommended verifying the identity of any official before allowing a visit.
Labor inspections, the agency explained, seek to supervise compliance with the law and guarantee safe conditions that respect workers’ rights.
Tool to prevent fraud
To give certainty to employers and employees, the STPS launched the “Know Your Inspector” portal. This platform allows you to confirm whether the personnel carrying out a visit belong to the Secretariat and are authorized for surveillance functions.
Before granting access, those responsible for the work centers must consult the platform and corroborate the official’s data. This prevents impersonation attempts or fraudulent acts.
The STPS reiterated that official reviews are carried out in accordance with the law. Its objective is to strengthen risk prevention, verify compliance with labor obligations and promote better health and safety conditions in the country’s workplaces.
