Sech shines at the Emblema festival in Mexico City
The Panamanian artist Sech debuted this weekend at the Emblema festival, which takes place in the same venue as the Flow Fest. Although the audiences at both events are different, the singer said he felt equally supported.
“I think people are always active, really happy. Although perhaps different artists came, people helped me a lot and that felt great,” he told The Associated Press after closing his presentation before thousands of attendees.
He performed a good part of the show accompanied only by acoustic guitar. Their DJ and guitarist Jhon El Divertir, also known as Jhon El Diver, musicalized special versions of songs like “Elegí” and “Porfa”.
“Since we started, I have composed many songs with him and, well, most of the songs that he plays himself were done acoustically. It’s like it’s really cool to interact in that way, that the public responds to us, incredible,” Sech highlighted.
The singer did not rule out one day releasing an acoustic album, a format that fascinates him. In 2018 he already released a cover song titled “Unplugged Acústico” with Jhon.
New album: “Secho Gang”
For those who prefer their more produced urban sound, the new album does not disappoint. “Secho Gang” is electrified with multiple layers of studio. Sech defines it as a special project because of the connection with its audience.
“With this project I think it has been very nice because people have been able to talk to me a little more about what they feel towards me. It feels different, I think there is a lot of maturity in me and I also like I know what I want… and people are connecting a lot with that,” he stated.
The album includes notable collaborations. “La NASA” with Jay Wheeler tells of love at first sight, followed by the trap “Detonó” with Kris R, where the attraction increases in tone. “The yin and the yang,” Sech defined them. Spaniard Lucho RK participates in “Cobertura”, a romantic song that they recorded in Madrid.
“You know that’s my essence, right? Sometimes I act tough, but I’m a romantic guy,” he confessed.
It also includes “Gata Oficial”, a remake of “Oficial” that she released in 2020 with Arcángel, Gigolo and La Exce. Sech described singing the chorus “as if it were my birthday.” In addition, dancehall is present in “BBL” and “Novio no” with Ryan Castro.
“It’s my essence. That’s how it all started in Panama singing dancehall,” he recalled.
Sech plans to start a tour with “Secho Gang” and plans to choose the next music videos based on the public response.
“Right now they rule, the album is theirs,” he concluded.
