The Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, presented the results in Quintana Roo during the morning conference in Tulum. He highlighted the arrest of five priority objectives required by authorities from the United States or European countries. They all had a red Interpol card.
From October 2024 to June 2026, 3,800 people were arrested in the state for high-impact crimes. 6,600 kilos of drugs, 760 firearms, more than 28,000 cartridges and 1,300 magazines were seized. A clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was also dismantled.
In the first half of this year, 25 relevant operational events were held. 63 people were arrested and 60 weapons, 2,400 cartridges, 133 magazines, 78 kilos of cocaine, 107 kilos of other drugs and 3,700 doses were seized.
“Each weapon removed from the streets, and each cell dismantled decreases the ability of criminal groups to affect the families of Quintana Roo,” said García Harfuch.
The arrests of the five priority targets occurred in Benito Juárez, Playa del Carmen and Cancún. The secretary thanked Governor Mara Lezama and stressed that the institutions will continue to investigate and arrest those who commit crimes, in coordination with the state government.
