Switzerland opened the scoring in the 18th minute. After a foul committed by goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada inside the area, the VAR confirmed the maximum penalty. Breel Embolo converted the penalty to put the Swiss ahead.
In the second half, Switzerland controlled possession but was not forceful. At 76′, Embolo had a clear opportunity with a shot that passed near the left post, slightly off target.
Qatar did not give up and found the equalizer in injury time. At minute 90+4, Boualem Khoukhi finished with a header and beat the Swiss goalkeeper. The match ended 1-1.

Group B closed its first date with Switzerland, Canada, Bosnia and Qatar, all with one unit. The next matches are scheduled for Thursday, June 18: Switzerland will face Bosnia, while Canada will face Qatar.
