Puebla started Apertura 2026 on the right foot by defeating Bravos de Juárez 1-0 at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium. A goal from Ignacio Maestro Puch in the 11th minute was enough to give the Camoteros the victory.
The Argentine took advantage of a series of rebounds inside the six-yard box to score the only goal of the match. Minutes later, Puebla celebrated a second goal, but the referee stopped the play due to a previous foul.
Juárez tried to react and sought the equalizer insistently, but his attackers lacked aim. The match became complicated for the visit when Iker Moreno received a red card in the 64th minute, after a VAR review for a foul.
With an extra man, Bravos increased the pressure, but the tie never came. Puebla resisted and added three valuable points as a visitor at the start of the tournament.
