Advances in security strategy
Rosa Icela Rodríguez, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), reported that 1,040 security agreements have been reached in Morelos. The official presented these results during the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum in that entity.
Arms exchange and culture of peace
Through the “Yes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace” program, in 10 municipalities of Morelos, the population was able to anonymously and voluntarily exchange 172 firearms for cash. The period covers from October 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026.
“In this way we continue to promote the culture of peace,” said Rodríguez.
The head of Segob also highlighted the actions aimed at youth with cultural and sports activities. Morelos has a state peace table and five regional tables that meet daily, headed by Governor Margarita González.
Days for peace and community participation
275 days for peace were held with the participation of more than 86 thousand people, mostly girls, boys and young people. Rodríguez added:
“Recognize and thank very much those who attend peace fairs to access programs and participate in activities to strengthen communities in the state.”
In addition, 12 peace and justice councils operate, both at the state and municipal level, installed by the governor and Segob. These councils contribute with proposals and actions on the matter.
