The PT sets clear limits
The coordinator of the PT in San Lázaro, Reginaldo Sandoval, was blunt: his party will not be a shield for anyone. Given the US accusations against the licensed governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha, he made it clear that there will be no protection or complicit silence.
But be careful, this is not an automatic condemnation. Sandoval recalled that, until now, the US Department of Justice has not presented conclusive evidence. And here comes the key point: “Every person is innocent until proven guilty,” he said.
What is behind this move? The PT seeks to balance two things: not appearing to cover up anyone, but also not lynching without evidence. It is a delicate political dance, especially with the focus of the DEA on it.
Meanwhile, Rocha Moya is still on the tightrope. The million-dollar question: will those tests that the US promises appear? For now, the labor party is covering its back and demanding transparency. Politics, as always, is a chess game where every move counts.
