Spiritual philosophy as an artistic foundation
For the multifaceted artist Omar Chaparro, the connection with the divine or with a higher force does not constitute a practice that necessarily requires religious venues or periodic rituals. According to the host and comedian, this transcendental energy resides inherently in each individual. Consequently, it considers it a conceptual error to try to locate it in a specific geographical space or through a specific action, since this perspective limits the understanding of its omnipresent nature.
This philosophical conception finds its tangible expression in The Less Indicated, his most recent musical production that consolidates his foray into the phonographic industry. In this composition, Chaparro not only captures this metaphysical connection with the Divine Being, but also incorporates significant autobiographical elements that enrich the narrative of the piece.
“All the fundamental answers are found within us. This premise finds resonance even in biblical texts that postulate divine omnipresence. By understanding these two axioms, I came to the conclusion that, to a certain extent, we are a constitutive part of this divinity, which does not manifest itself as a limited anthropomorphic entity. Its essence is incommensurable, it manifests itself as pure energy and as essential goodness. When this truth is assimilated, the individual orients his search for solutions towards his internal, not towards external factors”, explains the artist with remarkable conviction.
Motivation and symbolism in the musical career
This recording project represents for Omar Chaparro the materialization of a goal that has persisted since his childhood: to formally enter the musical field. Simultaneously, it constitutes a forceful response to those skeptics who on multiple occasions questioned his abilities to perform on stage, particularly in singing.
“It is deeply gratifying to be able to silence those detracting voices. If our desires do not generate a certain apprehension, they probably do not have sufficient magnitude. For a long time I visualized myself on stage performing songs, and I recognize that, indeed, that goal seemed unattainable,” he says in a reflective tone.
“Many people considered me foolish, and therein lies the real challenge: in the ability to ignore those negative opinions while listening to the inner voice and working diligently. It is not simply about wishing for something; if I aspire to become a singer, I must dedicate myself to finding my voice, receiving specialized instruction and facing constant challenges. This album represents the culmination of that process of search and personal development,” details the performer.
Film projection and artistic synergy
Parallel to his musical career, Omar Chaparro maintains an active presence in the film industry. On the immediate horizon is the premiere of The Cell of Miracles, scheduled for December 25, where he plays an individual with an intellectual disability who is serving a prison sentence, a role that represents a significant acting challenge.
Venganza is his other film project that will be released in commercial theaters on February 26. It is an action production with humorous nuances where Chaparro plays a vigilante, specifically a renowned elite soldier, demonstrating his interpretive versatility.
In both film productions, the artist is responsible for the interpretation of the main musical themes, thus establishing a symbiosis between his two professional facets. However, Chaparro emphasizes that his primary motivation does not necessarily lie in mass public acceptance, but in the personal fulfillment of realizing his lifelong aspirations.
“It is very nice to be able to silence the voices, if our dreams do not scare us, it means that they are not big enough, I have been visualizing myself, for a long time, on stage singing and I admit that yes, I saw it very far away.”
