Complaint for electoral coercion
Morena filed a formal complaint with the Electoral Institute of Coahuila (IEC) for an alleged vote-buying operation during the day to renew the state Congress. According to the party, QR codes given to citizens in exchange for money would have been used to favor the PRI.
Guillermo Santiago, federal deputy and representative of Morena before the General Council of the INE, pointed out that there is a technological structure behind the scheme. For this reason, the party will also go to the Cyber Police to investigate applications, servers and databases.
Legal actions in progress
In addition, Morena announced that he will file a complaint with the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) to track the resources that, according to his accusations, would have financed this strategy. They will also ask the INE’s Technical Inspection Unit to review the possible origin of the money.
The party assured that it will take the case to the final legal consequences and asked to respect the will of the citizens. So far, electoral authorities have not issued a resolution on the accusations.
