A thank you that will remain in memory
Three days after the elimination of the 2026 World Cup against England (2-3) at the Mexico City Stadium, the Mexican National Team published a video to recognize the support received. The production, lasting just over a minute, brings together images of the massive celebrations and the connection between the team and the fans.
Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa opens the message:
“Thank you for joining us”
Then midfielder Erik Lira appears, considered the team’s tactical engine:
“Thank you for not stopping believing”
Forward Julián Quiñones adds:
“Thank you for being our strength”
Postcards that marked the concentration
The video includes scenes of the team’s traditional celebration for coach Javier Aguirre in the locker room of the Coloso de Santa Úrsula, as well as the peculiar duck “Merlin” walking along Paseo de la Reforma. There are also shots of the footballers singing “El Rey” in unison with the stands and millions of fans gathered at the Angel of Independence.
Towards the end, Raúl Jiménez mentions:
“Thank you for being with us”
And the young Gilberto Mora, considered the great hope of El Tri, concludes:
“Thank you for your delivery”
The production closes with a clear message: the relationship between the fans and the team was strengthened during these 24 days of competition. Despite the defeat, the protagonists describe the experience as unforgettable.
