Strong start in Guadalajara
The Mexico Diving Cup started at the Guadalajara Metropolitan Aquatic Center with the preliminaries of the women’s three-meter springboard and men’s 10-meter platform. The competition brings together athletes from several countries and marks a key step towards the Central American and Caribbean Games in the Dominican Republic.
Notable performances
In the women’s division, the Mexican Lía Cueva placed third with 298.55 points, only behind the Chinese Yiping Long (314.10) and Shan Lin (322.65). Aranza Vázquez finished fourth with 294.15, Mía Cueva seventh with 264.35 and María Fernanda Sixtos eighth with 259.90. The regularity and level shown excites the national team.
On the men’s platform, the young Kenny Zamudio was second with 439.80 points, confirming the talent that is emerging for future international commitments. The Mexico Cup continues to be a thermometer of the physical and technical condition of Mexican divers.
