The Real Madrid striker puts an end to the rumors
Kylian Mbappé has had enough. This Wednesday, the French star came forward to flatly deny those reports that were circulating like wildfire. The theme? That Real Madrid had examined the wrong knee when he was injured at the end of last year.
“The report that said they (examined) the wrong knee is false,” Mbappé forcefully declared at a press conference.
The story, originating on RMC Sport’s ‘After Foot’ program and replicated by other media, suggested a medical error. But Kylian not only denies it, but also takes part of the responsibility for the initial silence.
“Maybe I am indirectly responsible for this situation, because when you don’t communicate what is happening, doors open to the interpretations of others.”
The injury is now history
The important thing, and this is music to the ears of any French fan, is that the left knee is now fine. After weeks of uncertainty, frustration and a loss of almost a month, the forward claims to have returned to normal.
“There was a lot of frustration, a lot of anger and then also some anxiety… I wasn’t the happiest player in the world. But now I’m happy because it’s really behind me.”
Mbappé even played as a substitute in Madrid’s last two games as he regained his rhythm. Now, with his mind set on the friendly against Brazil this Thursday, his message is clear: page turned.
Communication with the white club is, in his words, “very clear.” A chapter closed just in time to focus on the only thing that matters: football and preparation for the big tournament ahead.
