Mario Casillas, an actor with more than five decades on Televisa, wants to return to the screen. The 88-year-old actor voluntarily retired due to physical fatigue, but now he reconsiders.
He was interviewed by Eden Dorantes outside Televisa. There, Casillas explained that he himself asked the producers to stop calling him.
“I hardly work anymore, my legs are missing, they bend, so I preferred not to work. I’m at La Casa del Actor with several colleagues. I told them that I didn’t want to work and the word spread, no one calls me anymore,” he declared.
The return that awaits
Now, after six months at La Casa del Actor, the veteran actor wants to be part of a new project. A friend who directs a short soap opera for Vix has promised to contact him.
“He told me ‘keep an eye on it.’ That would be sensational. I hope they let me work with the cane, which is what I always stumble with,” he commented.
Casillas remembered with nostalgia his work with Aracely Arámbula, Lucía Méndez and José Elías Moreno. He also praised the director of the home, Yucita Furlong.
“Very good, they treat me very well there. The truth is, the director is very nice. I have been there for about six months now,” he stated.
The actor trusts that the doors of Televisa will open again, despite his physical limitations.
