Mariana Ochoa: new songs and a family break on OV7
Mariana Ochoa recently presented the singles “La pension”, “Sala 22” and “Atrévete otra vez”. The songs are part of her reinvention process, without abandoning the pop that characterizes her.
For the singer, family includes those who have been through thick and thin. For this reason, the members of OV7—the group he grew up with—continue to be part of his life, despite the differences that exist today.
“There are also disagreements between the family, and I consider OV7 that way. Some things have been made public, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed,” he told EL UNIVERSAL.
Ochoa refers to the internal disagreements in OV7, which included economic differences and accusations about the management of the group. In March 2025, Ari Borovoy said he felt betrayed by three members; She responded that she had documents to deny it.
However, the interpreter considers that it is not a definitive breakup.
“At home sometimes I don’t speak to my brother for a week, but we always end up making up,” he added.
The break after the 30-year tour was already planned. Each member had to develop personal projects. Some have companies, others are moms or dads, and everyone pursues their dreams, he explained.
Heading to the 2026 World Cup
As part of her new stage, Mariana released “México Mágico (Ponte El Sombrero!)”, a song in support of the Mexican National Team for the 2026 World Cup. The song has a festive sound and will accompany the Tricolor in its debut on June 11.
“I will support them in various events, such as the Fan Fest on June 13; you will see me supporting the World Cup things,” he said.
Ochoa acknowledged that the most difficult thing has been to reinvent herself while still being herself.
“The world changes all the time and jumping on new trends while still being yourself means exploring again, doing trial and error. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t,” he commented.
