Lyn May shared for the first time the story of the incident that marked her life three decades ago. In an interview with YouTuber Nayo Escobar, the 73-year-old artist detailed how two strangers offered to enhance her cheekbones with injections. “Oh, we are going to make you some very pretty cheekbones,” they told him, according to his testimony. He accepted without suspecting the risk.
The injection that changed everything
The dancer originally from Acapulco recalled that women used a bottle to fill syringes with cooking oil. “They injected me with cooking oil,” he said. The result was a progressive deformation of her face that led her to a deep emotional crisis. “I thought about making an attempt on my life. I didn’t want to look in the mirror,” he confessed.
The recovery was long and required multiple medical interventions. “Right now I feel like a queen, but because I have been through many doctors,” she explained. His mother’s support was key in that process. “He gave me a lot of advice. Then I started going to doctors and they got me out of all that, and I still need to,” he said.
Lyn May assured that she has not undergone new procedures for five years and maintains a positive attitude. “I’m going to keep going and I’m going to keep going until I die,” he said. Their testimony highlights the importance of seeking professional help and the crucial role of family support in the face of traumatic experiences.
