Disagreements in the Miss Grand International jury
Lupita Jones expressed her dissatisfaction with the qualifications that the representative of Mexico received during the preliminaries of Miss Grand International All Star 2026, which are held in Thailand.
The director of Mexicana Universal pointed out the French pianist Omar Harfouch, a member of the international jury. Harfouch had already been at the center of controversy at Miss Universe 2025 for her criticism of Fatima Bosch and the organization.
In an Instagram live, Jones said that before the competition he had a private meeting with the judges. He asked them for neutrality so that previous conflicts would not affect the candidate Francia Cortés Sandoval.
“Let’s separate the events and not burden the Mexican candidate with situations that we may be feeling related to Mexico, when it is a different competition,” declared the former Miss Universe.
However, during the evaluations, Jones observed that Harfouch gave the lowest scores to the Mexican. He described that behavior as unprofessional.
Musician’s response
Omar Harfouch reacted on social networks denying any animosity towards Mexico, the candidate or Lupita Jones.
“I have no hate and I don’t like to discriminate. If someone deserves a 10, that’s what I’ll give them,” wrote the pianist, who also asked Jones to stop talking about him.
The contest continues its course while the controversy on networks does not stop.
