Livia Brito linked to process for case of attack on paparazzi

The actress faces a trial for falsifying statements after an incident with a paparazzi in Cancun during the pandemic.

Livia Brito’s legal soap opera

Actress Livia Brito, known for her roles on Televisa, now has a new script to write: a legal one. A magistrate has just ordered that she be prosecuted for the crime of false statements.

All this revolves around that incident in Cancun, in the middle of the pandemic. According to the complaint, her then boyfriend, Yosmi Gedler Martínez, had physically attacked the paparazzi Ernesto Zepeda while they were walking.

The reporter Carlos Jiménez was the one who uncovered the news in X. And his explanation is clear:

“After two years, a magistrate ordered her to be prosecuted for the crime of falsifying statements. Since 2024, the paparazzi Zepeda and the lawyer @Angela_FriasA denounced her after she lied to the authority, denying having attacked the photographer.”

Here’s the key detail: it is not (for now) a process for physical aggression itself. It’s because of what he said – or didn’t say – later in front of the authorities. Basically, for denying the facts that the photographer reported.

And now what?

Brito will have to appear before the authority to continue with this legal process that he shares with his ex-partner. It is important to emphasize: there is no sentence nor guilty plea yet. This is just the formal beginning of the judicial path.

Until this Friday afternoon, total silence from the actress’s team. Not a statement, not a story on networks. Nothing.

So we are left with a curious image: a soap opera star involved in her own judicial drama. Real life is sometimes stranger than fiction.

Cruz Martínez and the emotional goodbye to his mother, Doña Gela

Cruz Martínez said goodbye to his mother, who chose to leave on the same day as his deceased brother's birthday.

Farewell to Doña Gela

The musician Cruz Martínez, known as the Kumbia King, shared on Instagram the departure of his mother, María de los Ángeles Martínez. Doña Gela, as those close to her called her, died after choosing the date of her departure herself: the day of birth of her son Danny, who died four years ago.

In a series of photographs, he showed his mother at different stages of her life, along with her grandchildren and siblings. The message was accompanied by a profound text.

“Today my heart says goodbye to the most important woman in my life, my mother, the woman who gave me life, who loved me with all her heart and who never stopped fighting, no matter how difficult the road was.”

Cruz highlighted her mother’s efforts as a single mother. Without parental support, she worked to support her five children.

“As a single mother, you raised five children, with a strength that only God could give you; you taught us that life is not always fair, but that we should never give up.”

The producer also pointed out that Mrs. Gela wanted to transcend the same day as Danny’s birthday, who died in 2022.

“Even in your last moments you gave us one last sample of that intense love. You yourself chose your day of departure… because you wanted to go give my brother Danny a hug.”

In his farewell, Martínez thanked him for the human legacy he left them.

“Thank you, mom, for every second of your life. Thank you for every hug, every advice, every prayer… thank you for teaching your five children that, no matter what happens, you have to get up and move on.”

The musician stated that his mother will be an inspiration in everything he does.

“From today on, I will miss you every day of my life… everything I do, from now on, will be for you and to honor the great legacy you left us.”

He concluded: “Rest in peace, mom, your pain is over.” The Martínez family receives support from fans and colleagues after the loss.

Karol G asks the new president for unity

The Colombian singer Karol G addressed Abelardo de Espriella, recognized by the National Electoral Council as the elected president of Colombia, through her account on

“I am not writing to you as a sympathizer, I am not writing to you as an opponent, I am writing to you as a Colombian who deeply loves her country. The elections are over, the campaign is over, the speeches are over, now the most difficult begins; governing for everyone.”

Karol G asked de Espriella to ensure the well-being of all Colombians, regardless of their political ideals. Among their requests: safeguard the integrity of citizens, facilitate access to job opportunities and combat hatred.

“Listen to those who voted for you, but also to those who did not, that you do not govern for a party, an ideology or a sector; that you govern for Colombia.”

Split reactions in networks

Although the singer’s intention was to call for unity, several users criticized her message. Some considered that it was a nod to the extreme right, while others asked him not to get involved in politics.

“I fell for Carolina Giraldo, just like Feid, anyway, I don’t judge them by the music but well, how disappointing, and don’t get involved in politics, like Caesar, Caesar.”

Another commented: “Why didn’t you ever write to Petro? You stayed silent for four years with those government atrocities.”
