BLACKPINK’s Lisa will have her own documentary produced by Sony Music
The iconic BLACKPINK member, Lisa, will be the star of a documentary produced by Sony Music Vision and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sue Kim. The project, announced during the Sony Music Vision Upfront event, promises to offer a deep and personal look at the artist’s life, beyond her role as a K-Pop idol.
A transformative year captured on camera
As revealed by the director, the documentary film will include unreleased material from key moments in Lisa’s career, such as her solo debut at Coachella 2025, scenes recorded in her homeland, Thailand, and other aspects of her private life. Kim highlighted that she worked with the singer for more than a year to capture this crucial stage in her professional career.
“Following Lisa through this transformative and exciting year has been a true honor and cinematic gift,” said Sue Kim. “I am excited for viewers to witness this extraordinary moment in their lives.”.
For her part, Lisa expressed her enthusiasm for the project: “It has been an incredible year and I feel very lucky to be able to capture these special moments. Working with Sue Kim has been an immense joy, we have traveled all over the world together and I know this is just the beginning.”.
Artistic expansion and parallel projects
The documentary comes at a key moment for the Thai star, who in 2025 released his debut solo album, Alter Ego, and collaborated with international artists such as Maroon 5 on the single Priceless. Additionally, he ventured into acting with a role in the final season of the series The White Lotus, demonstrating his versatility beyond music.
In parallel, Lisa is preparing to reunite with her BLACKPINK bandmates on the upcoming Deadline World Tour, scheduled for this summer, consolidating her position as one of the most influential figures in the global entertainment industry.
Sue Kim’s vision behind the project
Director Sue Kim, recognized for works such as the documentary The Last of the Sea Women and the docuseries K-Pop Idols on Netflix, brings her experience in deep and emotional visual narratives. Her approach promises to show a more human and authentic side of Lisa, away from the spotlight and focused on her personal and artistic growth.
Although the release date has not yet been confirmed, the documentary is expected to be available on digital platforms and select cinemas, generating great expectations among BLACKPINK fans and lovers of the documentary genre.
